Im quite shy, and ive just tarted a new school and l hardly know anyone! l love to make people laugh but l am mostly just awkward and too shy, and l have hardly any self confidence. but when im with people l know l have a laugh, its just l do not really know anyone yet - so what can l do to make me have more confidence? l do not wanna blend into the crowd, l just wanna be happier with myself. l wear such stupid granny clothes because l sometimes get panicky when l try stuff on in shops, even though l love clothes, so l end up wearing my mums cast offs. l would love to wear makeup but im scared ill make a fool out of myself. How can l just be happy with myself more?

Try writing down a few statements of how you would like to feel and say them in the mirror everyday. If you would like to feel confident write down things like, '' l am not afraid of other is opinions '' l would look great in____ and so on. If there is a situation where you feel timid, then play back those sayings and repeat them and you should feel a little more at ease.

Speaking from my personal experiences, the ways that l usually feel more confident is by dressing very nice, making sure my nails r done, my hair looks nice & my makeup is right. Talk with ur mom or a friend to help u through this process - esp the makeup & nails. When we look good, we feel good, & we portray more confidence. l also try to keep up on current events, books, movies, things that like so l can speak somewhat intelligently to others. l try to know a little about alot of things! l wish u all the best, do not worry, u will be great!

yeah l agree Write down the PRO is as well as the Con is about yourself
then u will just see that there is NOT much wrong with you!
l mean lets look at the obvious Pro is u DO have!
*Sense of humor* CHECK!
*Kind* l would say CHECK!
*Lovely personality* from what l can see by the way u write & the thoughts ur mind comes up with u seem like an okay girl to me!
NOW the Con's
*Shy well everyone is a bit timid now & then especially in awkward situations like meeting new people or a boy/girl u really like!
*low self esteem (no confidence) this can be a problem l suggest u write down five GOOD things about yourself & five BAD things You THINK about yourself then weigh them up
maybe it wo not seem so bad then..
also if u still have Confidence issues Read a self help book or go to see someone who deals with social inadequacies ( i.e a Shrink) l would suggest this only as a last resort!

Wear what you think looks great and keep reminding yourself of how great you think you look in it. Do not dwell too much on what othe rpeople might think, just focus on what you think is great about yourself.
