One of my friends l THINIK has bipolar disorder.
She has the same symptoms that l had before l got my pills.

She refused to go to the doctor.
I've told her that it is just going to get worse.

She tells me she is fine.
l know that is a lie.

Any suggestions on how to make her go to the doctor?
Guys, she is one of my best friends.
l love her, and want her to stop lashing out on us.

Ive been told that online tests are only 25% accurate.

Have you spoken to her parents? Also you might taking her to an appointment that you have so she can see what it is like. Good luck

maybe u could explain that if she takes the test then she can prove u wrong. If she takes the test and is then diagnosed then there is DR. patient priveleges and she does not have to tell anyone and its her choice to take the meds or not.

Well you can not force her, but you can educate her and let her make the decision. Its probably uncomfortable for her to talk about it so why not send a link? Just do not put too much pressure on her, and if it starts to affect her work and social life then you may want to talk to her parents or one of her girlfriends as that presents a red flag.

Not everyone who is bipolar ends up needing medication or therapy, although therapy is always a good idea. Some people r able to keep it under control. There r three types of bipolar disorder, u have to remember.

Also, someone showing bipolar symptoms is not necessarily bipolar. Hormones, diet, natural energy levels, etc. all play a part.

l do not have any suggestions on how to make her go to the doctor. If she does not want to go, do not force her. All that will do is push her away from you, which means she wo not turn to u if she DOES need help in the future.

Unfortunately u can not help some one who does not want to be helped. But u can try to talk her into going. Just sit her down & tell her ur worried & really want her to go see a doctor, tell her to do it for u (put her on a guilt trip, it sounds mean, but its for her own good if there is something wrong. She will be thanking u later.)
If that does not work, go to the parents & just let them know. They could probably get her to go.
Also, she might be scared, offer to go with her, & tell her everything will be fine. Just be by her side & comfort her, a doctors office could be a scary place.

hm. that is a tough one if she is reluctant to go.

Perhaps you can talk her into going with you to your doctor to see what it is like.

If she wo not listen to reason, there is really no way, l would suggest sitting down and talking to her seriously about it, but if she is already decided that she does not want help, she probably wo not listen.

Just keep trying to talk to her, maybe she will realize what is best sooner or later

just a thought but maybe she has a lot going on in her life right now. maybe somethings going wrong at home or school or something. just ask her if there is something wrong and if she says nothing look her straight in the eye and demand that she tells you what is wrong because you know somethings up. this could be the cause of her lashing out and stuff a lot of people do that when they're under a lot of stress. hope all turns out well :)

well all l can say because l havent experienced something like this is just keep trying to persuade her.. even do some research..even though you probably know a lot about bpd.. just do it to show her how it gets worse, etc. Dont freak her out, but show her enough for her to understand..

l am bipolar and l would never tell anyone even when my parents knew. l would just tell her that she needs to go, and that'd it make you happy and make the friendship not fall apart from her being how she is now. And if that does not work then just get a doctor to come over if you can, and then he will just get a few samples to see if she is. l hope this helps.
