l am 21 years old with a three year old and i'm 18 weeks pregnant.l have been severly depressed lately and l have thought about killing myself. l went to get help and the place l went to said l was not SICK enough for them to treat. What should l do? any advice.

Nothing in life is worth killing yourself over. Do not be selfish and ruin your kids lives. You know how terrible life would be without growing up with a mother? They would end up in jail, using drugs and all sorts of trouble.

Oh, sweetie, l am so sorry you're feeling this way. It must be overwhelming to be responsible for a toddler and a baby on the way. l am not sure where you went for help but there are hotlines you can call and talk to someone RIGHT NOW! Please check your local listings until you find one. You do not recognize it now but your children need you. There are many who love you and care. l care.

If you have an OB then talk to her (or even your regular MD), she should be able to set you up with the appropriate person to deal with your situation. You are obviously sick enough to treat considering you are a danger to yourself. The place that denied you care could be in for a lot of trouble if they are denying people who really need help

Do you have someone that could watch your 3 year old? If you do l would call a crisis center like a Help Hotline. They can point you in the right direction.

Look up your local number in your phonebook or online.

Think of the baby. If you kill your self when your are pregnant then the baby will die. if you want to kill your self do it after the baby is born.

If it because you are short (your name is shorty) then wear high heels.

DONT KILL yourself! THat is never the answer! Please think of all the excitig things in life u will miss out with ur daughter. Everyone has pitfalls in life but its about positive thoughts to bring u back to a better reality. Just remember-whatever is going on in ur life may seem so severe & so end of the road, but there is always an ''END'' & believe me, u will get the good life sometime soon. THink yourself better & u will get better. Find help for yourself ASAP. l believe this is definitely a hormone thing for u & has a lot to do with ur pregnancy. Go to a chaplain if ur religious. If you have a primary care doctor and/or an OB-GYN doctor, contact one of them immediately. He or she will put you in touch with the appropriate doctor/therapist. Please do not try to do this yourself.
l am sorry you feel so bad, and l pray that you find help soon.

how could you think with something so horrible like that and you have a kid ? and you are pregnant , look to the life from another way , whatever there is hard things you cant hold it any more , think of your kids who will grow without a mother ,,,!!! go to Psychotherapist

l am not sure where u went for help, but u need to find a therapist ASAP. If u have insurance, schedule an appointment with ur primary care doctor immediately & get a referral to a therapist. Or if ur insurance has a mental health option, contact them directly to find out who is on the list of available doctors. If u do not have insurance, contact the Dept of Health in ur area or ur local hospital is mental health ward & ask for a referral to a therapist.

Remember u have ur daughter to think of & u need to do whatever u can to keep yourself safe for her. Do u have a support network -- r ur parents involved in ur life? Do u have a husband, in laws, or close friends or other family? If so, have them take ur daughter for a couple of days so that u can get the help u need.

At the least, talk to ur primary care doctor, because they will be able to help. Do not delay in this. Get help NOW..before ur depression overwhelms u & forces u to make a very bad choice which u can not come back from.

Do whatever it takes to get help, even if it means going to the emergency room & being held for voluntary observation. You need to live for ur daughter & for yourself -- please get help immediately.

What type of place did u go to that told u that?? That is insane for them to tell u that. You r depressed, which is an illness. Any decent place would take u seriously, especially because u have thoughts of killing yourself. l would suggest going somewhere else for help. l do not know what area u live in, but l know where l live there r crisis centers avalilable for immediate help in situations like yours. Research mental health facilities in ur area & call one of them. If u r seriously having trouble controlling ur thoughts of suicide, get help now. You could even call 911 if it is severe. Do whatever u have to do because as l am sure u know, suicide is not the answer, & u have kids to think about also.. But in order to be a good mother u have to get well first.

when u have a child, & r impregnated again ur stress level will increase dramatically with tough questions always appearing in ur mind. just because u do or do not go on medication those dont always help. sometimes u just need another, this may sound a bit dumb but it helps for me, but another highly suicidal friend. me & my best friend r more than closer than sisters because of the stress we r having & about things we have done & tried. yes that may sound very ridiculous but it really helps when ur in that ''moment'' & ur about to do something others will regret for not helping u with & than they will go into depression, but talking to another helps. if u find that too personal than try talking to a professional or some other type of therapy groups. l must say l have heard positive & negative things about the group therapy, but it cant hurt to atleast try a few times.

You poor thing! It can be so frustrating to get the strength to ask for help and then to be told you are not sick enough! If they can not help, did they tell you who could?
Please, Do not give up!! There is help out there and things can get better.
l have had depression for over 10 years and once l got help (medicine and therapy) things are so much better.

Please do not listen to the people at this site who are being critical. Depression is an illness. They would not yell at someone who has cancer. Get your phone book and look in the front of it for mental help hotline. Where l live 211 is the number.Call them and be honest. Follow there suggestions. They may even have someone to come to you. Please do not hurt yourself. You are not thinking clearly right now. There is help available and people who understand.

If ur pregnant, the hormones could be making u depressed.

So wait, & if after the birth, see if it continues.

Also, put yourself in ur daughters shoes. How would u feel if u were THREE & ur mom killed herself? It'd make me feel unwanted, like my mom did not care. Like l was not good enough or important enough for my mom to live for me.

Do not do that crap to a three year old.

They can not handle those kinds of emotions & they should not have to.

And if the place said u r not ''sick'' enough, then report them & find a new place.

Then go to a hospital or mental clinic. Not sick enough to treat? Your life is in danger and they just put you down like that? l suggest going to a mental clinic because they can help with emergencies like this.
