at 15 l quit school because of bullying etc. Do not feel like talking about it . So l decided l would just get my GED at 18 so basically for 3 years l did nothing but stay home and hardly any human contact my dad works alot.
So when l got 18 l was going to class for my GED. And l was with alot of people, my heart started pounding really hard and really nervous, l felt like everyone was starring at me too. l do not think l have any disorder I am just not used to being with people and it is tripping me out. l never was like this when l was in high school. l really want a girlfriend, but l know no girl will like me like this.
So what should l do to get used to people?

Oh my God...this is scary. Im going through the same thing, except l am 16. l decided to just be homeschooled rather than drop out. But l am also very nervous around people.
You probably have the same disorder as me. Go to a psychologist and they will help you, l promise, it will save your life.

oh my goodness my story is almost exact dude. im 16 right now. In 7th grade l quit school because of same reasons. l homeschooled ever since & for the past 2 years l have been studying to get my GED as well. l can take it at 17 l think. l had major friend problems & l got really depressed. And because l was hardly in contact with people l developed social anxiety & it is very hard for me to be around people now. l am on anxiety medication now & It has been amazing! l am in a good mood, l am starting conversations & l leave the house way mor. l think you have social anxiety disorder. Google it and see if the symptoms match your personality or go to a doctor and describe to him/her how you feel. You can get help. There are lots of good medications for this disorder actually, that have very few negative side effects.

If you have only recently started being with people (under 6 months), it will most probably get better with time.
You may still want to talk to a therapist/counselor as they will probably give you some tips on minimizing anxiety (e.g. relaxation techniques) and to build your confidence. He/she will also help you find ways of building up a social support network.

Your story is very similar to mine. l dropped out when l was 14-15 because of depression, & in the past few years l have not achieved anything & just stay at home, have no friends & l rarely have human contact that is not my immediate family. I've tried going to TAFE to get my school certificate equivalent but l quit that too. Ever since leaving high school l think I've developed social anxiety & it is like I've forgotten how to interact properly. l am 18 now & l am looking into getting my school certificate online (correspondence) next year. It is where they mail u the work & assignments, u do them in ur own house at ur own pace, then mail them back. Is there something like that u can do? Did u complete ur class or r u still doing it? Try seeking out people who share the same interests, or people who r quiet & not likely to be judgemental. Do not push yourself into being very social by trying to befriend party animals, for example. Because not only will this stress u out, but will probably make u even more wary of people. Just take it at a slow pace.

l am like that too. l am 14. When l am with my friends or people l know l can get downright annoying, but around strangers l get BEYOND nervous. l cannot walk correctly in public, l feel like everyone is staring at me, & when someone points out that l am doing something funny, l about die. l am not anti-social or anything like that. l do not want to drop out; It is just really annoying when l go ANYWHERE & l can not function properly. There is probably a medical name for it & l am pretty sure it is a mental disorder.
