I am not talking a normal fear of it...l start shuddering if l feel the slightest bit nauseous. And seeing people throw up around me scares the hell out of me because I am worried l might have whatever illness they do. Though drunk people puking does not scare me...l think my main fear is the actual act of myself throwing up because l never have!! So l worry about it so much because l do not know what to expect! l guess I am just asking for reassurance that its not so bad...l hope.

l do not think it is so weird. Vomiting sucks. l hate it hate it hate it! And l am a bigtime puker.

a common fear , but you absolutely must NOT let it spiral to the point of a phobia ( defined as an intense fear that causes anxiety attacks)

l had that phobia once but luckily l learned to accept it and got over it

But just to let you no, when you throw up, you usualy have a sore stomach just before, and then it feels so so sooo much better after. l hate throwing up, but after l feel so much better

well it is funny u say that because l am deathly afraid of vomiting as well.

phobias develop not because the thing u fear has caused u harm or pain, but because of a perceived threat by the thing u r fearing. this occurs in 95% of phobia cases.

so no, it is not weird to have a phobia of vomiting; it is where u place ur fears & anxieties & having never thrown up might have something to do with why ur mind chose vomiting as a phobia.

when l was 7 l had a hemmorrage, which is when u vomit blood. l was very sick after a surgeon cut too deep during a tosilectomy. l have not thrown up since then out of fear. just 6 weeks ago, l was struck down with a horrible flu where l threw up & flashbacked to when l was 7. l was in the hospital for an anorexia (self-starvation) & had to eat, but refused to let my body vomit & l got so backed up l needed an enema to be able to fuction again.

i learned that it wo not kill me, as scary as it is, & the alternative is never any better. just in case u have to vomit one day, know that conquering a phobia is better than prolonging it.

The fear of vomiting is very common, so you are not alone. l hate it too and it has only happened a few times to me in my life.

But when it happens, the nausea leading up to it is worse than the vomiting itself. It is gross when it happens but in most cases you will feel much better after it.
