l like to burn myself, with neeedles.

l get a sewing needle out and a tea light, heat the needle and make multiple burns on my skin.

It hurts, really bad. But after each time l do it l just start to get more and more calm, then l go to sleep or just lay there.

My friends see the scars but they do not really care. One said it is fine because it is not cutting. Cutting is dangerous.

I am just confused as to why they are always placed together. Burning/cutting...cutting/burning.

If burning is fine then why does it even come up? l can not kill myself while burning, so what is the problem?

(and personally l would cut, seeing the blood would soothe me. But l do not have anything sharp enough to cut with. I'd have to pretty much saw my flesh and that sounds too painful. Plus I am not a good bleeder. Because of my gastro problem l become dehydrated a lot. l went to the hospital and they had to give me IV just to draw blood for testing. That nurse gave me one hell of a bruise digging into my vein. So, no offense to cutters.)

Also, for the record, no more ''talk to someone about it'' responces would be nice. As I've said my friends do not object to burning. And to add on the only person l suppose l can trust in life is my mother who is a paranoid schizophrenic whose brain is fried from much drug abuse. You might as well ask me to ''talk about it'' with a 10 yr old.

l do not want any help, I am not going to stop this. l just wanted to know why there is a stigma on burning that is so closely related with the stigma on cutting when it is obviously less risky.

hurting yourself is wrong to begin with,
join something active and take your stress or anger out on that.
talk about your problems with a friend or a loved one.
but going to that extent is uncalled for.
there is no reason for it.
find a new way to vent.

Technically yes, because your lessening your chance of infection. Mentally? No, you are dealing with your stress/anger/frustration in an unhealthy way. l used to do both, and then realized how destructive l was being so stopped. Now l just do kickboxing to release the tension which is much healthier for my state of mind and for my body.

How about neither. Personally, l could not stand self mutilation even if l got something out of it. l would feel pathetic.

Get laid, find a hobby, something. Quit being lame.

EDIT: When l want to release tension l lift weights & exercise. Try it.

l glanced at a couple of ur other questions. The reason l was being an ass is because l see myself in you. l used to be cynical & down on life. What I've come to realize is that happiness is a choice. People do not understand that the way we chose to look at our reality literally creates it. Ever since l made the conscious decision to succeed guess what? l have been more content then ever before. It is that simple, most people get caught up in the tangible.

Also, ignore the fools that tell u to seek professional help, u do not need it. You r the only one in control of ur emotions.

are you serious?? just deal with your problems like a normal person and smoke weed

burning does feel better but watch out for infection or out of control burns. you really should find a new coping mechanism

Actually, l disagree. If both methods r the same severity, cutting is better than burning.
Obviously neither of them is good; & if someone barely scratches themselves when they cut but gives themselves 2nd degree burns, cutting would be better; on the other hand, if someone is giving themselves really deep gashes but only 1st degree burns, burning would be better.
But if u burn & cut with equal severity, burning is worse.
Now l know that u r not cutting yourself, so how badly u would do that in relation to how badly u burn yourself, l can not say.
But as l said, in general, burns r worse & MORE dangerous than cuts.
Because: burns r more prone to infection than cuts are. Burns often blister, blisters r very prone to infection especially if broken. Burns hurt more, they scar worse, the scars take months longer to fade. You might think burning is better because u can not hit a vein by burning yourself, but a bad burn can lead to death just as easily as a bad cut could. Not as quickly, granted, but slowly & painfully, & in the end u will be just as dead.
Burning is NOT better than cutting.
l am also NOT in favor of u cutting yourself. l am just saying ur attitude that ''burning is fine because it is not cutting'' & '' l can not kill myself while burning'' & most especially ''it is obviously less risky'' is WRONG & DANGEROUS.
It is MORE risky to burn yourself.
And the fact that ur friends think it is okay that you're hurting yourself in any way is quite frankly alarming to me.
