I`m just wondering if any bipolar people have had similar issues with meds?I`m always anxious and irritable, WHEN l TAKE THE MEDS!!I`m taking Tegratol, Lamictal, Topamax. l don`t find these drugs very effect in controlling my moods. Any suggestions?
I`ve tried Lithium and Seroquel....lots of runny poop, and tremors.
l live in Canada, it`s a six month waiting period before l see a psychatrist.
l can`t figure out which one is causing the '' spacey'' feeling....I`ve backed down on the Lamical?? Is it Tegratol toxicity??Maybe l should go in for a blood test?

you can not just quit taking your meds. you can cause yourself some serious problems. My wife is Bi-polar so l know what you're going through. she tried to quit her meds one time and almost killed her.
the meds you're taking are very powerful and can not just be stopped cold. there has got to be someone you can talk to!
even if you have to go to the ER.

Do not quit any medication until you talk it over with your doctor. Make an appointment and tell him how you are feeling. It could be the type of med or the dosing that is not working.

how is your recovery going? the drugs are only a part of the mix. relief really comes from therapy and settling the underlying issues that drive these cycles to such extremes, in my experience. all drugs of this kind lose effectiveness over time. they are a tool meant to help you as you go through therapy to recover, not as a lifetime fix for it. l suspect until you get into therapy to work with your meds, your progress will be limited.
