I am depressed. Badly. I am in university, but l never really get the chance to meet new people, and by the way l can not because I am really introverted. l feel empty....just horrible. It is like a pressure on my chest...consuming. l have finally found a hobby, and l have something to look forward to in the future; but even that cannot stop that horrible feeling. even being near people like my mother does not solve my problems. Sometimes it really hurts so much, that the only thing l can do is sit in my room and stare at the bloody walls. It is paralyzing, and very confusing. Sometimes l feel no emotions when I am supposed to (mymum called me a monster for not crying when my grandma died) and sometimes l start crying because of something l see on the television, or just some music l hear. l constantly phantasize about love and having a meaningful purpose in life. l know I've asked this before (like a hundred times) but it is getting worse... l do not think l can last much longer. What should l do?? Suicide is not my style, but it would solve all of my problems...for now. A vacation? This problem started 2 years ago. There is no escape.

Suicide is a PERMANENT solution to a TEMPORARY problem. Do not even think about it. But why do not you take a vacation? Or see a therapist? or both?

Find professional help, you need to see a therapist and solve your problems. In the mean time why do not you try writing getting all your feelings out. You also need to make more of an effort to meet someone so you can talk, also try talking to your mother and letting her know how you really feel. It is all about getting things out in the open and having your problems solved. Suicide is never ever the answer. Good Luck!

What u need to do is take a vacation l suggest Transylvania just to see how a real gloomy society acts. This should reverse the effects of ur depression because u will see how the real depressed & pitiful of an existence of people really act. If this does not work then it means ur conceded. l say this because in all reality u have no reason to be depressed u have a loving family & such but ur just thinking about yourself. The final solution is to take 1 tablespoon of cinnamon & mix 8 ounces of milk because when mixed it acts as a antidepressant & u will feel great.

Your depression is acute & serious. You need help. You do not have to live like this. There r many medications that can help you. You have to make the first step & get help. Without help this will not go away. Speak to a counselor or a trusted adult. You r causing more harm to yourself psychologically by not getting help. Depression takes away every good feeling that we had. It is something to be ashamed of. It is more prevalent than u would think. Please first try picking up ur phone & ask for the crisis center in ur town. You can talk to somebody about it who is a professional & can refer u to help.
l am speaking from experience. You r lucky in that u know what ur problem is. when l was ur age l knew something was wrong but had no idea what. You can stop this early, u r young.
Depression is disease like heart desease or diabetes. It is a biological problem of the brain chemistry. A chemical called Serotonin keeps our mood on an even level. But with depression this chemical is sporatic & does not help. With help & the right medications l have recovered from depression & u can also. You just have to take action & take care of yourself, only u can do this. My prayers r with u as l know exactly what u r feeling. Please get help!

You r clinically depressed. l had it & was given Prozac do not kick Prozac it saved my life. Go to ur doctor now & get some anti=depressants at least to calm ur mind before dealing with why u have lost ur confidence. University = stress, how many students struggle & then just drop out. Be brave, & as my old auntie used to say ''get on with it NOW''. l have been guided by that advice through many deep holes, & it has always worked or been resolved. Get talking to friends, a nurse, doctor, uncle, the cleaner, but make up ur mind it is an illness which deprives u of making friends & having fun & energy back. Get on with it & get well & have Fun. Hello there. First off, l am really sorry that u have to deal with this, but suicide ISN'T the answer. Yes, it would solve all ur problems, but it would cause many more for the people who love & care about you. They could be thrown into the same depression as you. Also, l know u can overcome this, u sound like a really strong, intelligent individual. You WILL get through this, even if it takes a little while, u will. Do not throw away the rest of ur life because of this one little obstacle. You need to continue to be strong, l have faith in you.
Second, if you're depressed, u NEED to go see a doctor or a therapist, they can get u started on some anti-depressant medication. If u have no motivation to even do that, & you're thinking about suicide. You can always check yourself into the hospital. My dad had to do that because of his depression. He had to stay there for a few days, but they got him on some medication & anti-anxiaty pills. Everyone was glad that he did. You do not know how much it hurts the rest of us seeing u like this, depression effects everybody.

EDIT: Also, about meeting new people, Try joining some local clubs. Or maybe they have clubs at ur school? Join a club that intrests you. Then the people u meet there will have something in common with you. l am in chess club, & l love it. =)
