l am a creater, and performer. Lately can not write a song. Normally l pick my guitar and words and music start flowing. Not this time. Suddenly l got this urge to learn ''If We Are the Body'' by Casting Crowns. Does anybody think this is weird, could there be a physiological connection or something?

you can not force creativity .

Psychological connection? Yes.

l have been a musician & painter all my life. There r definitely times l felt blocked. For me there were definite stresses which included worry about money, general anxiety, & self-criticism. l find that being around other creative people has been a soothing influence & l like having the support. l also found that creating on a regular basis (every day) is helpful.

l love the book ''The Artist is Way'' by Julie Cameron which has helped a great deal by offering many inspirational ideas on how to keep the creative juices flowing. l highly recommend this book for anybody who is involved in creative pursuits.

l frequently take walks just to be inspired. l go to art galleries & to places where live music is being played. l am just playing on these walks, but l never go home without inspirational ideas. It is important to simply get involved with ur creativity - do not judge yourself & just let it flow. Making the effort to be creative is the trigger for creating more creativity. You do not wait for a good day or a good feeling, u must simply put yourself to work - then the creativity will flow. Good luck!!

Edit: The importance of not sensoring yourself is key. For years l used to sit in my office/studio & experiment with quick watercolor paintings on scrap paper (just warming up). l threw most of those away because they were only scaps of ideas & warming up exercises. My co-workers would fish many of them out of the trash, beg me to sign them & would scurry away with them. Later l would visit co-workers in their homes & many of those scrap pieces were framed & hanging on their walls. l could not remember doing most of them & many of them were really nice. l could not believe l had been tossing them into the trash.
