For the past 7 years l been through some trauma that left me very vulnerable . Today l am so absent minded. l can not remember facts like for example if l read the papers and l want recall some of the points, or l am talking to someone about some matters, l just cant without substantial effort. that leaves me quite embarrassed coz my friends tend to get bored by the time l finish talking. they start looking away, being distracted, or look for someone more interesting to talk to. l cant hold conversations for long because of my memory. but after l am back, l start kicking myself coz l regret not being able to have had a free flow conversation with people. l wanna be able to talk freely, have free flowing conversations with people. Because of this problem, l feel afraid to talk to people, fearing they might despise the way l talk. l also stutter sometimes . l wanna be able to recall facts fast whenever l talk. l wanna talk without blinking and stuttering. please help me. l really need help. by the way l am teacher. its affecting my personality...

STUTTERING - STAMMERING : The word ''stuttering'' is mostly used in the United States, Canada, Australia & New Zealand. The word ''stammering'' is usually preferred in the United Kingdom, Eire, India & most other Commonwealth countries. Try deliberately slowing ur speech. You could try several different talking speeds: 85%, 90%, 95%, & 100% Consider ur current rate of speech as being 105%, a rate at which u stutter frequently. Go back to 85%, then slowly increase, in stages, until u begin to stutter noticeably: then go back to 85%, & work ur way up to the rate before u began stuttering at a rate that u find unacceptable. Keep at that rate, for a good while, maybe later, risking stepping it up one more notch; confident that u can always work ur way back up from 85% again.
Think of it in terms of modem speeds on ur computer: if that speed is set too high for the connection to the ISP, there will be problems. You may well be currently ''overclocking'' ur speech modem: the difference between ur brain speed, & the rate at which u r able to speak clearly & distinctly, without stuttering markedly, is the issue. A different suggestion is putting some marbles in ur mouth. STAMMERING: Stammering may be a symptom of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) whcih can be diagnosed & treated by a psychiatrist (Psychiatrists have Medical Degrees). In the mean time, l have heard that if u start to breath out just before u begin vibrating ur vocal cords to make sound, that establishes momentum that helps reduce stammering. Good luck! Memory improvement is addressed in section 41. In ur position, I'd have several sessions of professional EMDR therapy (sections 33 & 34), followed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, if necessary.

have u thought about hypnotherapy or seeing a speech therapist for ur stammer? l also have an awful memory, r u on an medication? have u suffered with depression? these can affect ur memory.
also try some relaxation/anxiety relief if u r talking & stutter, if it come on through anxiety, drink ice cold water, it hits a nerve at the back of the throat that slows the heart down. or concentrate on ur surroundings, in minute detail, look at every tiny detail on everything around you. this will distract u for a few minutes & help calm you. Or breathe in for 4 & out for 4.
