my doctor just switched me to celexa 20mg for 3 days, then 40mg each day after. im going off cymbalta cold turkey actually because my doctor told me it would be okay to stop and it would be out of my system in a few days. have u lost weight on celexa? thanks

Alot of meds have weight loss as a bonusside effect depending on what you need. l have head that cylexia can make you loose weight? Is that a bad thing? For me l would not complain! ;)

Antidepressants increased the risk compared to placebo of suicidal thinking & behavior (suicidality) in children, adolescents, & young adults in short-term studies of major depressive disorder (MDD) & other psychiatric disorders. Anyone considering the use of Celexa or any other antidepressant in a child, adolescent, or young adult must balance this risk with the clinical need. Short-term studies did not show an increase in the risk of suicidality with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults beyond age 24; there was a reduction in risk with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults aged 65 & older. Depression & certain other psychiatric disorders r themselves associated with increases in the risk of suicide. Patients of all ages who r started on antidepressant therapy should be monitored appropriately & observed closely for clinical worsening, suicidality, or unusual changes in behavior. l had been on celexa 40mg,s for 5 + years and it really didnt give me any side effects, it seemed like it was not working though so 3 weeks ago my dr put me on Cymbalta and l am having dizzyness, cant sleep and find myself anxious, l think l am goignt o go abck to the celexa. You may be experienceing withdrawal from Cymbalta. l have heard cymbalta withdrawal is HORRIBLE.

l have never tried Celexa but l know some of the side effects are; Nausea, dry mouth, trouble sleeping, loss of appetite, weakness, tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness, increased sweating, blurred vision, or yawning may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell ur doctor promptly.

I've been on celexa since the begining of the year, they work wonderfully and l no longer have any side effects. -When l first started them l had some crazyass dreams and my sex drive was way down. My doctor said that was really common though, and l was back to normal in a couple months.
l have lost some weight since i've been on them but l never thought about it being from the meds. Ether way l am not complaining.
