It saved my life.l do not recommend it for everyone and am glad that people can choose other options, but l am very glad that my quality of life has greatly improved with the use of medication and as far as side effectsgo, it is a case of weighing pro and con and l do not wanna be severely mentally ill all the time.

So.. my question again. Why are people so down on medication if it can make someone is life worth living? No one should have to be suicidal all the time.

l guess because some people who need the medication r in denial. Maybe the feel that they do not need it because they do not have that certain condition that they need the medicine. As in other cases, other people tend to think that a mental illness is something that is in ur head. Something that u can get over if u try hard enough. l guess there is still a lot that has to be learned about the topic before people start understanding that if it was something that u could control, would not u be doing that already. l mean l do not like the fact that l have to take medication, but if that is the one thing that is keeping me on this earth then u better believe that l am gun ho for it

These are the same people who think that dental fillings are really a government plot to store America is silver supply in our mouths. They are the crazy ones. l know what you mean. l take medicine for schizoaffective and if l do not take it l hallucinate. If l do not take my lexapro l have uncontrollable social anxiety and panic attacks. Forget those people and do what is right for you.

l know that my friend and l do not take them because medication can change who you are. Chemicals are altering your mood. l am depressed, and it is a part of me, hopefully not a permanent part, but a part nonetheless.

l 100% agree with you.without this Lexapro that l started a couple months ago l still would be severely depressed.

b/c l been severely depressed since l was a teenager & l always told them l do not want to go on anything that will make me gain wieght or give me sexual side effects.

so we always went a different route with the medication that did not do crap for me.and finally this year a couple months ago l just got so depressed that l said just put me on whatever u have to, to make me feel better...so lexapro (among others) is what is was that changed my life like no other.i am so grateful for that medication but the only thing is that is does give some side effects id rather live with out but hey if l feel better that is all that matters & now those side effects r getting much better since l been on it a while now.!!!!! :D

so people should just not be so judge mental.

thanks for reading my answer.i feel good telling my story. & l hope l helped someone out there..

Medication saved my life in a psychotic event. But after a few months l realized it felt bad and l could not think well enough The psychotic stress damaged brain cells and if they were to regrow it would be when l was chemically free and stress free. Remember silver fillings are silver powder mixed in mercury metal . One of the ways l recovered was to get all the mercury fillings changed to plastic white ones.

l agree with the person who said because they are in denial. l am definitely in denial. l personally hate being on medication, because l have tried so many of them, and nothing seems to have worked yet. For me it is also part of admitting something is wrong. l am glad that you have had a good experience with medication. l hate feeling suicidal, but medication tends to affect my ability to think. It makes my thinking very cloudy.

l think some people become disenchanted with medication because it works initially, but the person is body bcomes immune to the medicine and the beneficial effects dissipate. Based on the ineffectiveness of the medication, people frown on medication. Lithium seems to be one that works quite well for long periods of time. My wife is bi-polar. l am not, but l know of the devastating effects from the disease. God bless you in your questoo to over come this difficult illness.

Yea but did it make u deal with the very real problems & thoughts that made u that way in the first place? Did it really fix the problems & clear ur mind? Or did it just mask the real problems & tranquilize u so u do not have to deal with the real problems anymore?

God works slowly & we r all works-in-progresses..but l suggest slowly weaning yourself off of medication & take God is medication which is the TRUTH in his WORD!

God says..'' l am not the author of a confused mind... l am the author of a sound mind.'' You need to get to the roots of ur real problems, & get rid of all the wrong things u were taught as a child. Learn to be a child of God now! That is what being BORN-AGAIN means.
