WHy is it that my bipolar sister is ignoring my existence, wont call, acts irritated when l call her, etc.? Is it the disease or does she just not like me?What is it like to be bipolar?

Suffering with bipolar disorder is like riding a roller coaster. And it is pretty much the same for those around them. The behaviors can be all over the place - no two people are the same, especially if they are not properly medicated. Your sister loves you. She is not able to control her mind sometimes. If she is on meds, they may be the wrong ones. Please do not believe she does not love you because l am sure that she does.

l get irritated with others when l am in my mania phase. This may be what is happening

l have great difficulty making phone calls & keeping in touch with my family. l do love them but the telephone annoys me for some reason & causes me to feel agitated ( l think it is because l rely heavily on nonverbal cues & body language). l also get distracted very easily when l am on the phone so that makes me feel even more irritable.

What is it like to be bipolar? It is wonderful & it is terrible. It is like never being ''normal'' & never knowing why u can not be. It is like being the most brilliant, most sensitive, most creative person one day & wanting to kill yourself the next. It is like tasting heaven & then waking up in hell.
