My doctor prescribed Effexor XR 37.5 mg for me today. l am wondering if anyone who takes or has taken this drug can give me some feedback on their experience with it. Thanks!!

From my own experience of this drug l would be inclined to ask your doctor if there is an alternative to this drug another SSR l is Setraline which suited me better as the withdrawal symptoms are less drastic. But please do not listen to me speak to your doctor.

u will have to try it to see if it will work for you
it takes 4-6 weeks for an antidepressant to work
and everyones body reacts to medications differently
l was on it a few years back tacking 450mg along with 4 other medications
everytime l missed the effexor l was in bed with a migraine for the entire day-alls l wanted was the lights off, ice water & a fan & no noise
it was awful
i now take topamax & welbutrin & omega 3 -helps with weight loss

l am on Effexor XR, 375 mg..i too started on 37.5 mg..it has helped me a great deal but it was not until l reached 300 mg..i have been on it at this dosage for about 2 1/2 years and am very concerned as to what l have heard about how hard it is to go off of..but everyone reacts differently to meds..good luck to you!

it made me more depressed and countered against me. but l cant say that for you. you ahve to just try it. kinda like dating. dont know what is good until you try a little bit of everything. (dating wise and trying new drug wise)
