I've been taking St. Johns Wort which is supposed to be really good so i've heard. It treats ''Mild to Moderate'' depression, i've been taking it for about 6 days, it says 1-3 tablets a day so l take the maximum. l have not noticed any difference in the way my mind state is, i've asked my mum is there anything stronger but she says l do not need it because im not BADLY depressed which l agree on.. but what else is there?

Should l stick to taking what l am currently taking? It is been proved better than alot of the stuff prescribed by doctors.

The absolutely best natural aid to combating depression is - exercise. It not only improves self esteem and physical fitness, it releases the feel-good hormones Endorphins in the brain.

Doctor prescribed meds can and do take two to three weeks to take effect. You need to ride this out a little longer. If you still feel no improvement after a month, then look into other avenues. Just because you consider your depression only moderate, does not mean you need to have it hanging over you.

What r ur symptoms? Sometimes people misread symptoms & do not realise that they r actually suffering quite badly, for example, a poor sleeping pattern, or sleeplessness (sleeping during the day & inability to sleep at night is a classic pattern). Weight loss, poor appetite or difficulty eating can also be symptoms.
Is it depression, or could it be something else? Feeling low or weepy could indicate thyroid problems or other physical illness.

In other words - it is very difficult to tell how bad u r doing or what might help from the information u have given, & u should definitely be making an appointment with ur GP.

l think herbal treatments r great - IF they work! l think u might need to give it a bit longer as l know conventional medicines for deprwssion take up to 2 weeks to start working. However l am also a believer in the right treatment for the right patient. l myself have done very well on anti-depressant medication & would not hesitate to use it when l need it. It has made the difference between functioning as a normal productive human being, or being on the verge of a break-down.

l am going to reiterate - SEE YOUR DOCTOR. That is the most useful thing u can do right now as he/she can really see how much help u need.
