Well this kinda follows on from my other question. I've taken into account that l need help and l need to talk to someone. But if l do get help will it help my future?
l do not know what l mean but... Will it make my life better?
Cause when l found out l more than likely have Clinical Depression, l wont lie, l cried on and off for ages. And l almost talked about it to my mother a few minutes ago but l decided not to.

I am scared. Can anyone please please help me.
It might seem like I am complaining but I am trying to sort my life out.
Would not you feel messed up after 7 years of constant unhappinessess?

Of course. Talking always helps get things off your mind. Talking is also a good way to stretch your vocal chords.

You do need to get help. Depression is treatable. l have a teenage daughter who has suffered from depression. She admitted to me she was having problems. She was placed on medication & seen for counseling for a while. Today, she is once again a happy young woman, & she is being weaned off the anti-depressants, so far with no ill side effects. Please do not try to continue living like this. With proper help, life can become good again for you. l know it is hard but it is worth it. You will be in my thoughts & prayers this evening.

l have been struggling with mental health issues also. l have a counselor and it does not help. You have to find the right one which can be very hard. It is almost just as good to talk to strangers. they have a better understanding rather than some person with a college education just sitting there judging you. l have been searching for some support groups.

Faye, sweetie, of course u need to talk to someone, if only so that u dont feel so alone.
Clinical depression can be dealt with. You just have to make sure that u do all that is required of u when told.
Have they given u medication?
Have u googled to see if there is a website for people such as yourself who r suffering with this - talking to people who r going through it or who have been through it is more likely to help you.
l am sure u will find a website to help you.
Its a shame u cant talk to ur mother - its what we're here for.
All four of ours have inherited depression problems & each of them deal with it differently. But it can be done & talking about it helps others understand ur behaviour so they know how to cope when u r having the 'bad days'. l dont know of anyone who ever really copes with it alone honey.
So google 'clincial depression websites' & see what comes up.
Hope u find what u r looking for & l hope u find some peace from ur condition.

yep and talking to your mum is the best she will support and cry along with you at first but you will feel relieved that it is off your chest, you doctor will help too maybe your mum could come with you? chin up go and tell your mum l think you need a cuddle and she will give you one as soon as she knows :)

Talking to someone does help,
Please talk to your mom or someone you trust.
Get things off your chest. You do not have to suffer alone.

l am being treated for depression. l take an antidepressant to keep me from having suicidal thoughts.
Counseling is what really helps me.
l am mapping out a future for myself, something l never did before.

See, u r worried that getting help wo not help & u have not even taken the first step yet. Yet u r worried about the possible outcome.

Just take things one step at a time. Talk with ur mother or a counselor or a minister. Or maybe even a mature, caring friend.

Get some exercise outdoors in the fresh air & sunshine.

Realize that there a people a lot worse off than you. l am sure that what u r facing is very real & disappointing, but many people l have known & know have experienced tremendous physical & sexual abuse as children. If that is not what u r facing, be encouraged about the positive things in ur life that r there now. If it is (in that case l apologize for mentioning it this way) then call the police & report it. l hope everything will go well for you.

Faye, who told u that u have clinical depression? If it was not a professional who has seen u personally, then u really must not take too much notice. If it was someone u have seen, then they r the one to ask about ur next step.

Please do not be scared of ur feelings. You sound as though u have a lot to cope with & so it is natural - & okay - to be feeling as u do. It wo not affect ur future. Nobody is going to think there is anything wrong with u because you've been seeing a counsellor, or a psychologist. Many, many people see professionals for emotional & mental health problems. It is healthy to be able to acknowledge that u need help & go & find it. It is courageous & sensible!

Feeling down & very low might indicate some degree of depression, but not necessarily clinical. Go & see ur doctor as soon as u can and, in the meantime, try keeping a diary. l always recommend this to my clients, because writing down ur feelings & thoughts can be a release when there is nobody else to talk to. And do re-consider talking to ur mum. It might seem scary, but u could try practising how u will start the conversation, plan exactly what u want to say, etc.

As soon as u get help, this will all start to get better.

l do suggest to look in the phone book under last call for help, tell ur mom or ur dad, ur teacher. Just tell someone. Being unhappy could be a chemical imbalance in ur brain & its not a big deal. It only takes a test to find out. You could call ur doctor as he has to keep it private if u ask him or her. l hope u take the initiative to do something to change. l waited till l was 40 & l was very confused, had no self esteem & was afraid of everything. Today l am very smart l talk to everyone sharing my expierance, strength & hope. You can do it, one step at time, learning to share whats going on will enlighten u on ur journey in life.
