and he is down in dumps do u think it is still possible for him to bounce back and acheive whatever he wants in life. or do u know of real life example where a person was completely down and out yet he turned things by being hugely successful.people say that nothing is impossible l m currently in aproblem from which is see no way out so any inspiring example would help.

Yes, it is possible, as long as you have learned from your past mistakes and do not repeat them. Set some goals for yourself and work towards achieving them. Start with something small and once you've reached that goal, then go ahead to another more challenging one. Anything is possible if you want it badly enough. Do not look back...look toward the future. Good luck and much success.

l made some bad choices due to my uncontrolled bipolar illness. l ended up on meth and l was homeless and with no family for 2 years. l am now very happy. my family is back and l have a roof over my head. l no longer do drugs or drinking of any sort. if l could make it so can you. this too shall pass!!!

l know l made a lot of mistakes in the past. l was signed up for college & l already paid the tuition but l canceled everything & got most of my money back.
l lost a job that l had for over 7 years & l got a job in the factory where my father-in-law was an engineer. That job sucked so l started taking college classes 2 at a time.
After 4 years of that l was ready to transfer to a 4 year school, but we had 2 girls by then & my employer cut my annual bonus from $13,000 to $6000 so l could not afford any classes.
l was stuck working there with no escape in sight. l was getting promotions then & got a really good position.
Fast forward from 1989 to 2006. Change in management put an idiot in charge. l was getting mad at him for his stupid ideas (everybody works Sundays even if there will be no work for Monday or Tuesday. His policies combined with my family life led me to insomnia & depression.
l have been taking antidepressants & getting counseling since late 2006/early 2007.
So far my suicidal thoughts r gone & l discovered my vocation. l am studying to become a nurse. For once in my life l have a future l am working toward. By this time in 2010 l will be a nurse.

l agree with Ann.

l was a drug addict for more than 20 yrs, and l bounced back, and have been clean for 41/2 yrs. l mean no place to live but the streets, my family had nothing to do w/me, and l hated my self. The good Lord above showed me l could over come all disparity, and make something of myself, and l did. l now run my own business, have a family and a home. So yes you can over come anything, if you put your heart, mind, and soul to it, and with the Lords help.

It is possible. Mistakes r not all bad, they give us understanding for what not to repeat, learn from them but most of all forgive YOURSELF for making them. You need to see that really anything is possible & u honestly can achieve anything if it is what u really want. l do not know any specific examples & u know why? even though there r greatly successful people out there from bad backgrounds now that they r successful there backgrounds do not haunt them, its not that they would deny it but it just does not matter because they have learnt that yes they made mistakes just like yourself but forgive yourself, learn from things & move forward, u can do it & u know why, its because u have already proven u have the want to do it but posting ur question, see there is already a spark igniting. You will be fine, onwards & up, go for it. You can find heaps of people who will help u out of ur current situation. ;-)

We all make mistakes and l see them as a learning curve so l also agree with Ann when she says it is important to try and learn from your mistakes and not repeat them. Keep looking forward. l have made some terrible mistakes in the past and at times it was so hard to see light at the end of the tunnel but a saying l always remembered in these times is the one that Teresaga(?) quoted.this too shall pass. Winter does not last forever.
