l have a social phobia and that means l find it hard to socialize and l really am not confident and have no self esteem. The thing is l do not go to school any more because It was that bad im 14 by the way.All l do everyday is sit on my laptop playing on games. l never go out. l really really hate my weight but l really can not go out to get the exercise that l need to lose weight. l have my own tredmill in my room but l doubt 30 minutes on that will help me lose weight if thats the only exercise l do a day! :( What can l do?

Just do it. Any exercise is better than no exercise. Just start off walking slowly for as long as you feel like. When you are ready, you can increase your time and pace. It will help you lose weight if you are eating healthier as well and stopping when you are full.

you can loose weight by running (and l mean RUNNING) 30 mintues a day. l used to sprint for 30 mintues each day, and l lost 20 pounds in less than 2 months. first off, pace yourself. start of at a brisk walk for 30 mintues, and then gradually increase your speed until you can run. you will see the weight start to come off. just stick to it. at a fast walk, you will even start to lose weight. just do not give up, and stick with it!

There is an infomercial on tv it is a workout video by Tony Horton called P90 X l have seen it work for a lot of my friends and relatives but it is just like anything else , you have to be committed to it.. It is hard but nobody said it would be easy. l wish you good luck and remember motivation is the key without it there is nothing, work hard and you will see results.. l hope you find what you are looking for. Start with ur diet.
One of the easiest lifestyle changes that u can make is eating more small meals a day. It sounds weird to think that eating more food can actually help u lose weight, but metabolism slows down when a person eats less & increases when a person eats more. The important thing to remember is that u have to eat smaller portions more frequently.
We all know that junk food is bad for us & fruits & veggies r good for us. But if you're like me, veggies just r not ur thing. You can substitute certain drinks, like V8 Frusion, to get ur daily requirement of vegetables. The only thing you're losing in the transaction is fiber, which veggies r full of. The solution is to eat whole grain bread, which is full of fiber, to make up for the loss. So, say, for lunch u could have a glass of Frusion with a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread.
Cut back or just stop drinking pop altogether. Pop is empty calories. It offers ur body nothing but fats & sugars, & it is easy to drink pop after pop without feeling that you've had too much.
Your body does not discriminate as regards what exercises u do. If u like ur treadmill, keep with it. If u don't, u could always mix it up with sit ups, jumping jacks, etc. You can even buy exercise videos or dance tapes. Since you're home anyway, u do not have to feel embarrassed about doing them - no one can see you!
You may find that increasing ur exercise will help u to feel better & slightly more confident. Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins (''happy hormones'') in ur brain & can help u to feel less depressed. It is not a magic bullet, but every little bit helps!

Honestly, it sounds like u could benefit from talking to a psychologist. It is very hard to be afraid of social situations at such a pivotal age in life. It could affect u in the future (in the workplace). l am 22 & there is constant interaction at my work.with bosses, with coworkers, clients, etc. l think it will be a lot easier to overcome the social phobia now rather than later! It is totally normal to talk with a counselor or psychologist. l have, my brother has (he had nervous ticks), my cousin has (she had anxiety), etc. And they're all doing GREAT now! Consider it.
You may want to consider seeing a nutritionist too. l have genetically high cholesterol, so l went to a nutritionist & she helped me understand how foods digest, what foods give nutrients & what foods r harmful to the body, how much fat u NEED & how much is harmful, etc. It was SO helpful. This visit was paid through insurance, so have ur parents check their insurance & see if a visit would be covered for you. It should be as long as ur doctor recommends it
Best solution, in my opinion:
DIET - Try to avoid sugars (ie. cookies, cake, sugary cerals, etc) - Try whole grain bread instead of white - When u eat meat, try to get it as lean as possible - Avoid fast food! Some of it is healthy, but most is fried beyond belief! - No pop!!! Trust me, once u cut it out of ur diet & get used to not having it, u wo not miss it! - Fruits & veggies r always great. If u r not a fan of them, try eating them with something else. Ex. celery & peanut butter - Keep track of what u r eating, when, etc. It helps to see it on paper because then u can see where the problems are - Try not to eat at least a few hours before bed - If u feel hungry as u r going to bed, try not to eat! Drink a glass of water or milk to fill ur stomach - Try to eat smaller portioned meals. - NEVER overeat!!! If u feel full, stop! - Try to eat slowly. People tend to scarf the food down without paying attention to whether or not they're actually full or if the hunger is gone.
EXERCISE - Try to exercise at least 4-5 times a week!!! l know it is hard, but u just have to psyche yourself out. It is a LOT more difficult to lose weight as u age! Whether it is running up & down a staircase, pace walking or jogging around the neighborhood, biking, rollerblading, swimming, whatever!! Just get ur heart rate up. Even jump roping, dancing, or chasing the dog does the trick! - l recommend weight lifting. It tones ur body & improves strength. And not just lifting things, but in general. My grandpa is r both 80-ish. One can move VERY well, the other can barely walk. Can u guess which one kept active & kept exercising his muscles? - The 2 best ways to motivate yourself to work out..FRIENDS & MUSIC. Find a workout partner & plan workouts with others so u can not break plans. Music is also great. You can get an iPod shuffle for, l think, $50 or $60. Maybe cheaper on eBay? Music always pumps me up & gets my adrenaline going!!
SOCIAL INTERACTION - Honestly, my best advice is to talk to a psychologist & try to 'beat' ur phobia. It is VERY possible to do & honestly, u will kind of have to eventually, or else you're going to have a really hard time going to college or getting a full-time, or even part-time, job to make money. l suggest that u sit down with ur parents & have a SERIOUS heart to heart with them & tell them how u feel. Do u want to be able to socialize with peers? Do u want to change something about yourself? If ur parents know YOUR goals, they can help u reach them!!! Let ur parents know what THEY can do to help u feel better about yourself & where you're headed!
GOOD LUCK!!

Miss K & whydotheheathenrage ave great ideas! l am agoraphobic, so i'm basically at home on my lappie most of the time. l only go out on rare occasions. & my weight has indeed suffered.
l wish l had a treadmill! lol l have a small individual trampoline that is helpful as well. If u can go outside to ur hallway, or front steps, walk those stairs, it will help for sure! start slow then work ur way up to faster or more steps. l would recommend Yoga, but l know firsthand that it can be difficult for us rounder folk lol though there r some great items on Amazon, yoga for round people l think it was called. it is on my wishlist. Pilates is helpful. l have a nice dvd called Yogalates, sounds silly, but its a doable combo that is great!
i really do recommend seeing a therapist as well. To help u deal with the root of ur social phobia & hopefully get past it.
l also highly recommend meditation & relaxation techniques. It does not burn fat, but it puts ur mind & body & soul in a better place to start with. Plus, the deep breathing is healthier for ur body, helping to detoxify. . & also, try to get yourself to laugh & cry. crying is detoxifying, & laughing, how can u not benefit from laughing? :)
As for eating, l personally find that eating smaller meals, more often is most helpful. Most doctors will even tell u that. l also find that eating at the same times every day, setting a routine, helps as well. l lost 20lbs once, just eatin at Wendys for lunch & dinner at home, every day lol
the following 60lbs.. it came from just feeling better, good about myself, happy. .. now if l can just do that again lol
Hang in there. l wish u the best of luck!
Oh, if u havent yet, talk about ur trouble with ur parents/guardians, before u do anything at all. Support is essential!
