l am extremely shy, l was always shy throughout High school and stuff but l am now in college. There are a few people who have seen the ''real'' me; l am too shy/socially awkward around people l do not know.

l have currently been friends with the group of friends l have now for about 10 months, but l still can not be myself l am still extremely shy. When l am introduced to people they know, the most l say is Hi; l am not able to put a sentence together at all and l usually just sorta fade out.

l wanna be able to myself no matter who l am around. How do l go about doing this?l always make eye contact and smile (but just cant talk). l have considered social anxiety medication (because l get so nervous, palms start to sweat, l usually start to get hot etc...) But l only want medication to be a LAST resort.

l am so shy to the point l am afraid to talk to random people on facebook, and l am also so shy that l can not call my friends (thatl have known for 10 months) and start a conversation....

l NEED HELP!!!! Any Suggestions.......

try to talk to yourself in the mirror. say some things you would like to try to say in front of others. then start slowy talkin to family the way you want to talk to friends. finally,start praticing with one of your closest friends.

l was the same way, l would never talk to people in high school, It changed after l took a drama class & got into a play, later in college my second semester l just opened up. l am always talking to people & putting myself in social places. It is different for everyone my suggestion is start slow. Just step out of ur comfort bubble a little more each time. l started out by introducing myself to new people l met in my classes, & just gradually stepped out of my comfort zone. l am still a little shy sometimes, but once l got a taste of being social l do not know why l was so shy in High School.

do the things your fear and the death of fear is certain. Do not fight your fear- know that it is there, but keep move toward doing the things you want to. l was once a lot more shyer than you and today l give lectures to big audiences
