About 2/3 years ago, my best friend had a boyfriend. We got too close - l was young and stupid - and he cheated on her with me. She forgave me and did not forgive him and we carried on being best friends.

I've been depressed for a very long time. It is gotten to the point where it is unbearable now. I am in and out of hospital all the time and I am on 60mg fluoxetine. My friend has done all she can to help, but there is only so much people can do. I've been talking to the boy again and he is been telling me for years that he really likes me and can not stop thinking about me. l explained to him that l couldn't, because of my best friend, but also because of my depression. He was so understanding about it and he told me it does not change what he thinks of me at all. l really think that starting a relationship with him might finally help me get better. l honestly do.

l know l need to talk to my friend. But is this right? Do you think she will understand, she does not like him at all anymore.

For one she is no longer dating him because he cheated on her. So now u want a man that cheats on his girlfriends, & u think ur depress now, boy ur in for a surprise. It will get much worst because he will cheat on u too. Once a person cheats man or woman they always cheat again. He is not worth it, knowing what he did with u on ur best friend do u honestly think u will trust him? It will be on ur mind all the time because ur going to remember what he did to ur friend. And a true best friend does not cheat with their friends boy/girl friend. No respect!

l think that u should get together with that guy, if u feel this will help u get back to normal life. Just think about it, a man ending up his relationship with another girl, to be with u - he must be finding u really special & love you.
Your friend will probably understand, as she is no longer with him anyway. If she is ur true frind then she will want u to be happy, & if she wants u to be happy then she certainly will accept ur relationship with her ex.
Do what u think will be right. Sometimes u got to follow ur heart & think outside the box.
