Is xanax more effective than regular anti depressants such as zoloft. Ive taken zoloft and still get bad anxiety when around older people. l can not be myself/ act sketcy. Does it change your personality and make you a zombie or a better version of you. Can it be given to people under 18, and is it dangerous?

xanax is more for anxiety than depression

Xanex is not an anti depressant is an anti anxiety medication. Two very different types of drugs. Xanex is very Very addictive & if used with any other drugs or alcohol can be lethal.
A doctor can prescribe how they see fit. If u read the insert on xanex it clearly states for short term use only, but many doctors do not follow that.
A drug like Buspar along with an anti depressant would be safer & non addictive.
You ask ( l think if xanex can cause u to zone out & the answer is YES)

Xanax is for anxiety/panic attacks, not depression. Zoloft and such are more for a daily basis, and Xanax is more for panic symptoms. I've been on Zoloft, and l did not like it. Lexapro is what l am on now, and that has made so much difference! l recommend that because Zoloft had the same affect on me when l took it. And l took Zoloft when l was under 18, but l do not think Xanax can be prescribed to anyone under 18.
