We went on a lunch date just last week. l feel sorry for her, but l do not think l can call it shock.l did not know her well enough for shock. Could l have a disasociation disorder?

you are probably very devastated, but for some reason you dont feel sad. you will when you see her in a coffin. that will make you blubber and weep according to this question. l am so sorry. l give my regards.

everyone responds differently to death. do not judge your reaction. it may change over time. you do not have a disassociation disorder.that is something different.

l do not know. But the way you feel about someone maters. Imagine if you loved her allot! And she was killed by your bff. That is probably when the pain comes.

Not necessarily, u r expressing sadness in ur own way. l wonder if today we now seem to expect to feel absolute despair at anything remotely sad. You do not say how this person died, if it was a traumatic death then u may be feeling an element of shock & ur ''lack'' of tears etc could be to come although if u did not know her that well it might not.
l do not why u want to pin a label on this unless u already have a recognised mental health problem. If u do not then l would say not to worry. We r all different, u might find in a few weeks time u suddenly find yourself crying, or if u go to the funeral etc that might be ur time for sorrow. If u said u had absolutely no feelings about the matter at all..that would be a bit more of a worry.
For now l would just take a time out & remember ur friend as fondly as u can & remember there will be others who were very close & u might be able to support them through this sad time.

death is as natural as birth, and not showing, (or having) emotion for an acquaintance is not uncommon. Everyone has their own degree of grief, do not think yourself unusual or dysfunctional because of your individual feelings. You may find that at times you will miss your 'acquaintance', and that might be the extent, or you may never give it another thought. No matter, what matters is how you react in life. Be kind, and respect others, be true to yourself.
