I am a normal teenage girl, but I am worried about one of my friends lives at home.

Are any of these things listed below forms of neglect or something around that area?

*Her parents go to work around 9p.m and come back around 6a.m in the morning, while she is home alone with her 3 year old brother, and 6 year old sister, almost everyday of the week except friday and saturday

*Her parents yell at her all the time, when she really doesnt deserve it.

*Her parents yell at her if her little brother or sister does something wrong.

*They offen put down her friends, and say bad things about them and how they hate them.

*They tell her shes sloppy , and does listen. When shes a very pretty girl and takes care of her self to the best of her advantage.

*If her parents talk about her to her ounger siblings, saying things like shes a bad person and such.

*If her parents drink in front of her and offen do shots of alcohol.

*Her dad offen slaps her butt, and she says sometimes it makes her feel uncomfortable.

* When shes in trouble her parents offen threaten her, her dad always gets up in her face and tells her if she says one more word hes going to ''knock her f***ing head off.

*If her parents are very mean to her, I am not trying to stick up for a friend and say she has a bad home life, but her parents are mean, and say mean things to her.

She also told me last night, that she feels ''unwelcome'' and ''uncomfortable'' at home, When l know that no child should feel unwanted, unwelcome, or uncomfortable in there own home.

What can she do to put this to a stop, her parents think they are wonderful to her. Is there anyway to report this? What happens if she just so happens to get taken away from them? Can you even get taken away for this? and is this a form of abuse/neglect?

l have a friend that put herself in Foster care. She herself went to Child Protection Services & told them what was going on & they took her to a foster family & she lived happily ever after! She was a teenager when she did this.
It is always the oldest of the children that is counted on & depended on by the parents. They r abusive, indeed. She has tolerated entirely too much already & she can save herself & her siblings from this abuse. l wish her well & hope she will look into what l am saying. My prayers r with her.

Yes, this is verbal abuse. It can be reported. Perhaps you could discuss this with a school counselor to inquire as the best thing to do.

yes, it is neglect, it is very very wrong, please seek help for this girl, for the sake of her younger siblings also, this is SO wrong.

here in the UK we have the NSPCC, you could google the equivalent if you are in another country.

please act if you can, or tell an adult or teacher if you feel overwhelmed by this.

School have people that can help, Doctor can help. Child line. Social services are who the police would contact, so a reasonable sized police station should have a family officer.

this is defintetley several forms of abuse & neglect. u didnt say how old she was but by law she has to be 13 years of age with a knowledge of cpr. besides all of that..yes more than likely if someone were to call & bring attention to this they could remove her or put the family under some form of guidance to protect her. especially if there is no physical abuse. they r raising her to be the parents of her siblings 90% of the time & that is just too much for a young lady. she could also get some form of outside counseling on how to build her self esteem back up & how she should handle the situation..
