lpanic when l drive by myself! l haven,t driven in about a year ? l cant even work ? its been coming and going for 8 years im 31. l cant have a life

Then you need to seek some serious counseling or you will never ever get over these fears. You can have a life again.. please seek counseling for yourself and start to live again !!!!!!

The girl who answered before is pathetic for answering the way she did. Its not failure at all. Most people have fear, this is yours. But the longer u isolate yourself from the source the harder to get back into it. You should know as an intelligent person that crashes & disaster on the road is very highly unlikely relative to how many cars r out there. That u can drive sensibly & r capable of doing it well & that it is a fear that CAN be overcome. Start small in a car park or something & then some quiet back streets. Reassure yourself that its ok because it really is..ok. Try to identify what it really is that u r afraid of. Is it crashing? Is it an experience that u once had? Work through it logically. Its a problem that can be solved.

Yes u can Jeff. Maybe u need to talk to some one. l never thought l would even suggest that idea,but l get the same way if l do not go out of the house,or drive . You develope a fear of things. l do not know what they call it, but it has a name. l get scared when l drive by my self. l can only go to the places l know. No new places,they scare me . l get lost so easy, l got lost going to the post office ,and l have lived here all my life! l am scared to go into a store,or any other place l have not been to before. l will never go someplace alone, let alone a new place alone. l do not know what it is l am so scared of. l would rather risk the chance of getting into trouble for not going than to go. l am not afraid of people l have not met before,because l managed a Hardware Store for thi--- years. ( just can not admit to how long) l helped strangers all day,every day. l liked it. But l know if l stay in the house for any certain length of time, l get afraid to leave it. Just do it a little bit at a time & the more u do, the less scary it gets. With me , l think when l go into a new place, everyone stares. Everyone is eyes r looking at me & nothing else. That scares me. Talk to some one though, even a friend or even ur dog. You can make a dummy to sit in the car with you,and u wo not be alone! l have one just for fun, but she goes out with me if l am alone after dark. Just some thoughts on ur situation . Go Out More!
