l had to audition to win a place in my school team is trip to America.
l did not make it, and a lot of my friends did.They are being lovely about it, and there is still 2 or 3 more places to be filled, but l feel like SUCH a failure, completely worthless. l just wanna succeed at something..does anyone know how l can improve my mood, l honestly feel, so so unhappy with this current situation..

well first off, l live in america, and its not the best place in the world.. it kinda sucks and the air is horrible here. Be glad you didnt come. maybe just go have fun on ur own.. sometihng BETTER than america[:

This feeling will pass, l bet you aren“t the only one not to have won a place. Everyone has skills in different areas so concentrate on something you enjoy and are good at.

PS l won a place at school for a trip to France. l later found out the only the bad kids got places and it was to try and rehabilitate us!

well l doubt that will be your only opportunity to go to america. you can go to america on a vacation or whenever you save up enough money and get old enough to go by yourself or with a loved one. having a school trip like that for a long time is destined for drama. l know this first hand.

We all fail at things we attempt from time to time; that is the truth. No one is successful all the time. Your friends will have their turn at failure - everyone does: Richard Branson, Alan Sugar, JK Rowling, most politicians & writers & actors have been turned down many times. What u need to do is learn from this: what u learn will depend on circumstances, but learn something. Oh & the best thing u can do now is be really, really happy for ur friends. That way when it is ur turn to do well, others will be happy for u too. Take care.

l am sorry ur did not make it. It is very disappointing.

However, this is situational, meaning it will pass. What we always tell depressives (and works with everyday sadness as well) is to continue doing the things that use to make u feel good, even if they do not now. They will work again.

And just deal with the emotion. Messing up one audition does not mean u r not good - do u think actors, musicians, business people, basically every successful person has not lost an audition, game or presentation? It does not mean you're bad. Sit & make a list of the things u do great, do well, & do okay in. This combination is unique to u & will get u somewhere. Work on one u r at least good at & usually like. Get involved with yourself again.
